If you've never rented a private villa before, the experience can feel opaque. What exactly am I booking? What's included? Who's there when I arrive? How do meals work? Do I need to bring my own towels? (No.) This guide answers every question first-time villa guests typically have.
What "Private Villa" Actually Means
When you book a villa like Karaya, you're renting the entire property exclusively. It's not a shared space. There are no other guests on the grounds. The pool, the garden, the kitchen, the living areas — everything is yours for the duration of your stay. Think of it as renting a private home, except it comes with professional staff.
What's Included (at Karaya)
Every stay includes: daily housekeeping, a villa manager, a personal concierge, the fully equipped kitchen, the infinity pool and garden, high-speed WiFi, smart TVs, air conditioning, airport transfer, private parking, and all the amenities listed on our website. In-villa breakfast is available on select days. There are no hidden charges or resort fees.
Who's There When You Arrive?
Your villa manager will greet you at the property. They'll walk you through the villa, show you how everything works (pool controls, entertainment system, kitchen), introduce you to the team, and answer any questions. After that, they're available whenever you need them — and discreetly absent when you don't.
How Meals Work
Unlike a hotel, a villa doesn't have a restaurant. But that's a feature, not a limitation. You have three options: cook in the fully equipped kitchen yourself, ask your private chef to prepare meals (available on request, charged separately), or eat out at Seminyak's excellent restaurants — your concierge can book reservations and arrange drivers.
Security and Safety
The villa compound is fully enclosed and gated. There is a security presence at night. The pool is clearly marked for depth. First aid supplies are available. Emergency contacts are provided at check-in. Your concierge has relationships with the nearest international-standard medical clinic.
The Check-In / Check-Out Process
Check-in is typically at 3pm. Check-out at 11am. Early check-in or late check-out can often be arranged depending on availability — ask your concierge. A security deposit may be required at check-in (returned within 7 days of departure). Airport transfers are included.
That's it. No lobby. No key card. No minibar charges. Just a villa, a team, and the freedom to make your stay whatever you want it to be.
